Miss Mika Madness.
Mika is no stranger to being an outsider. Growing up as a Black Latina woman, who listened to Slayer and Metallica more than P. Diddy, and has an obsession with horror… breaking stereotypes was the norm. Mika Madness shares her story of self discovery, how her Alter Ego saved her from her abusive relationship, and what going viral as a horror content creator will do to a girl.
Mika Madness is a Horror Comedian based in New York City. She has been featured on TLC’s Cake Boss and Love, Lost or Run and AMC’s Comic Book Men. She’s known as the “Scream Queen of Vine”, the only horror comedy Viner with over 56K+ followers. Now that the Vine app has been shutdown, Mika’s followers have been driven to her Instagram account to keep up with her work. Mika’s short horror videos caught the attention of Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel, Hemlock Grove) and Chiller TV (NBC). Both of which featured her digital horror/comedy shorts on their websites and social media pages. She has created original horror promos for Blumhouse Productions and movies such as; The Gallows, The Visit, Stranger, Nightlight and many more. She has hosted a weekly horror Twitter Chat for Chiller TV and received over 1 million impressions in a hour. Last year, Mika received a sponsorship from Polaroid Cube to film her horror comedy content!
Mika Kenyah grew up in a very religious Pentacostal home in the Bronx with her mother and grandmother. Strangely, on Fridays it was tradition to rent horror and kung fu movies for a family movie night. Mika’s mom took her to see Pet Sematary 2 in the movie theatre at age 8 years old. Needless to say, growing up with a mix of religious teachings and a fascination for horror made for a very interesting and confusing childhood. It also inspired her creativity.
Mika’s Vine Reel!
As a teenager, she developed a love for gothic culture and Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was there she met a man by the name of Mad Man Mike who directed and performed in the live version. It was his larger than life persona and name that gave way to Miss Mika Madness.
As she got older, she wanted to try more adventurous projects; host rock shows in NYC and found comfort in her alter ego Miss Mika Madness to get that job done. Miss Mika Madness rocked tattoos, a red mohawk, leather and spikes. Now, just Mika Madness, the alter ego has blended her real life persona into the folds and has warped into more of a mad scientist character who loves creating horror comedy content
